1600 Pennsylvania Ave

Well, as we await the transition of power in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. This Inauguration Eve, on the foothills of history. In the last hour, I have watched Larry King: Live. I've felt so compelled to blog! After the carnage of the last eight years and the erosion of civil liberties that George "Dubya" Bush implemented. Also, known as the "Thief of 2000 Election" or "Daddy Bought me Presidency". Oh well, Good Ridden to the Bush's. Let them settle in there affluent Dallas suburb and live off the residuals of oil prices and profits of Kellog, Brown and Root. Well, I'm sure he will be tight with his buddies in Riyahd! I will end with this, the blood of thousands of American Soldiers will be on his hands. I'm sure he wont be sleeping well for years to come.

God Bless America!

St Louis Respite! Back in the 'Lou! Doing my morning Java!

It was such a welcome site to roll into St Louis amid the dark of night. I pulled up, in front of my place and saw one of my kitties. Eagerly awaiting, in the window. It was so good to see them, I cried! I missed them so much. Not that I have a place, it wont be long and they will make the trek to KC.

Well today, I have to see my Hair Diva and run some errands. But on my agenda is also getting White Castle and some Imo's Pizza. But I found out Imo's has a place in KC. But a co-worker originally from St Louis, says its not the same as in StL. Even though, its the same chain. Oh well!

I did meet some new friends this past week, via Pam Ross (Specialist Assistant to former BOA President Jim Shrewsbury) in St Louis. She put me in touch with Cathryn & Lori. There very nice and live in a urban oasis. There going to show me around and such!

Next subject, I did sign my new lease, yesterday. I will take possession of my new place on the 31st of Jan!! YEAH! Then the dreaded moving everything from here to there. Well more later!

I am excited! I will be in my own space and bring my kitties, soon!!! I miss them! I am heading to the STL, tomorrow after work! Have to see the Hair Diva on Saturday! I am going to bring a few more things back!

This week has been better then last, I am so much more settled. I did meet some new friends via a st louis friend. They rock and are going to show me all around KC, next weekend.

I found a gallery, I want to visit, too. It was profiled on CBS Sunday Morning this past weekend! The "Nelson-Atkins Gallery" http://www.nelson-atkins.org/ Its dedicated to art work, that depicts the evolution of train travel in America!

Well, my favorite character is bidding farewell tonight on CSI: Las Vegas, William Petersen. A Chicago native, and great actor, who is very humble. http://www.slate.com/id/2208635/

Well its almost one, so I am going to cease blogging!

Welcome to Kansas City MO (Day 12) Jan 14th 2009

I should of started this blog, upon my great trek westbound on Interstate 70 to Kansas City! A bit of history on this choice. Here at my mid 40s, I decided to take a new job with the federal govt here. I couldnt pass up the money and I was itching for change in my life. After spending the last 10 years of living in the City of St Louis and working for its fine government. I felt it was time to move on. I guess, I thought it wouldn't be as challenging as moving to DC back in 1998. Which subsequently, St Louis sucked me back then. Well one thing I can say, I am still in the MO. Alway Be a Show Me Girl!! I had over the last several years had craved Chicago and applied for 100s of jobs. Well, it never materialized. So here I am working now for the US Census Bureau. An agency I worked for in the 2000 Decennial Census operations. Now 10 yrs later working on the ramping up of the 2010 Census.

Back to the challenging aspects of this life transition. I guess this is another one of those things, that becomes harder or has more impact in your life, once you turn the BIG 40. I have adjusted but the first week was so hard on me. I am grateful, I found a stable interim residence. I do miss my cats and having my own space. I really didnt know anyone here or much about KC except for a few trips. I learned alot from others. I have done well, so far. Well I am tired, going to bed.
